For Monsters, souls are also the essence of their life.
Human souls are heart-shaped and, as expected, are located all over their heart.
Souls don't play a determining role in a Human's life, aside from a few things:
- It determines someone's defining quality.
- They are responsible for various sensations near the heart, perceived as emotional responses. (Though, those sensations are only perceptible by the soul owner)
- They are used for the formation of new Human souls when a Human is pregnant.
- They are only visible after a Human's passing, when it escapes from their chest, and they usually stay with the Human's body, becoming an aura.
The most common soul traits for Humans are:
Some soul traits are still present among Humans, but a little less common than the 8 traits above. Those traits are:
There are only two traits that are so rare they're considered a myth. Those two traits are:
Human souls don't act and react as much as Monster souls during someone's life. However, there are three events in someone's life where their soul becomes visible.
At a Human's birth, their soul isn't confined to their heart, as it unlatches from the mother's own soul and immediately searches for its owner. The first thing a newborn child sees is its soul. The child is left to explore its soul until it goes to hide in its chest, where it will stay until the Human's death.
When two Human partners reach a certain peak in their relationship where their trust in each other is unbreakable, their souls will reach a plasma state, allowing for it to escape from their owner's chest and reach for their partner's soul. That act is called "Soul sharing" and, while it happens unknowingly to Humans most of the time, some, who know about the existence of souls to begin with, will witness the phenomenon.
